My NaNoWriMo Novel

I wish to have a little poll: After reading my NaNoWriMo novel, do you think I should quit while I'm a head?

It's just, Darkliquid did a fair job of knocking my confidence this weekend, and I don't know whether to just give up, or beat the poor horse to death. I'm not enjoying writing it, but it is an interesting concept. I thought I was doing okay, but he says it's 'unbelivable' [read: crap]. Also, I don't feel I can go back an edit it cuz of the time restraints, and therefore an crit I get of it just makes me feel worse, becuse it isn't p[erfect from the outset. I guess this is what I get for writing 'cold' [ie with no insparation burning in me to write]. I think I was badly prepared, and getting ill and starting work on the same day as this didn't help either.
But, much as I hate it, and I hate writing it, I don't like giving up, cuz I'm a stubborn idiot.

So, Should I delete it, or should I stick at it?

If you feel that badly about it take a break. It doesn't HAVE to be submitted to NaNoWriMo. Let it cool for a bit, but I wouldn't delete it entirely. It's too good of a concept.

you know that it's quantity not quality for NaNoWriMo, right? They don't really care what you write as long as it's 50,000 words and in by the deadline. And I'm sure it's not THAT bad.

Ooh! A mystery!

I like it! Don't give up and delete it, even if you don't submit it to NaNoWriMo, it's still pretty good. It could probably use a bit of tweaking in some areas, more descriptiveness and big words. I like the concept... and I want to know how it ends... ^_^ Yay M00m4!

“Well, after they bundled us into the van they we drove off. I don't really know where we are, but coming here I know we came along some kind of unpaved road – it was really bumpy, and when they got us out I saw we were in the middle of nowhere. The building we are in is huge – it us nearly half an hour to get to this room.”

^ Something I noticed...I might just be reading it weird, though.

Stick at it Laura. While Monty might think its not believable, I feel it is. Also, once you get into writing, its often the way of authors to revisit earlier parts in the story they arent happy with to bring it in line with the rest of the novel. Stories grow like plants...not just at the end, but also at the roots.
Hang in there.

Jev, there are probably tonnes of bit's where I've started to write one thing, then changed my mind, but not completly deleated everything I was saying.

I think what I might do is forget about NaNoWriMo for this year, shelve this untill I'm less stressed for a while, and come back to it and finish it.

*nods* Thanks everyone.
